Meet Lodge 1234

Here's a picture of Lords of Hack Lodge 1234. You'll all recognize Quinton second from the right. The other faces from left to right are Dan, Kayla, Nate, Justin, Quinton, and Connor. Over the next few months I'll do my best to introduce you all to each other.

Sunday's Game

For Sunday's game, have anyone given any thought to what characters you are interested in playing? I've got three adventures planned, and each has a different flavor.

  • Strike Breakers - The PCs must investigate why serfs refuse to work the ginster fields right at the critical harvest time! This adventure requires some diplomacy skills with some muscle to back it up.
  • Mage's Fortress - The doors to a ruined Smirkenburg fortress have been thrown open, unleashing abominations near Wulf's Swamp. PCs will have to do a little dungeon crawl to unravel this secret while perhaps making some side money completing the survey of the province.
  • Two Houses Alike in Dignity - Nobles with more money than sense want to dick one another over during the ginster harvest. This adventure screams for unscrupulous skullduggery to show that in cases where noblemen quarrel, it is only the opportunists who prosper.

Lords of Hack Website

I've finally getting around to putting the Lords of Hack website back up. I've moved to an Amazon server now, so it will be much cheaper and faster than GoDaddy. There will be some growing pains as I get it back online, but we should have our website back soon.

Next Session

Any interest in taking a break from D&D to run a session of Blades in the Dark next session?

The Big Game

What's the plan for next game? I'm happy to continue to judge lightning round weeks. I promise to do a better job of balancing fights, though. I made a mistake and had *way* too many were-pigs at the last scrap. I've also got plans for preparing some new NPC bad guys to choose from including:

  • Kinevil Rampage and the "Law Friends"
  • "The Cyclone" and his agent
  • Khan Shaka and his goons
  • Griggle the Wormpriest
  • Gaius Antonius Octavius
    ...and more!

We've still got pushbacks we can resolve, and Dengwur should soon start to go back to war with the Old Ones. We should discuss what is up and where we are going.

What does everyone's character want to do next game?

    New Plans

Since the Clockwork Horror threat has been addressed (for now), I'll be taking over as GM this week. I figure we'll do the weekly lightning rounds as we had done before with a push back card revealed every other week or so (GM's choice).

Amicus plans to use the time to create magic items, probably starting with magic leather armor so if anyone happens to have some magic leather already he could *really* use that as a sample to create a recipe. Failing that, he will crank out potions of extra-healing by the gallon. If anyone has any requests, post your requests here and I'll create a schedule. Amicus will probably stop adventuring until the majority of the other PCs have reached 9th level as well.

    Pushback Cards

Quick question for everyone. Are we still using the "pushback" cards? Now that the Wormcult has taken the Elfwood, there are some pretty interesting things that could happen. Also, is anyone creating cards for Amicus' population of lawful douchebags in the Yoesville countryside? By the end of August, their morale will be adjusted again and chances are good that things will improve now that they are accustomed the power and protection of Jupiter.

    Plan for Next week's game

I thought that I'd offer to Judge next week.   I know Andrew wants to start to conquer the Island of the Dead, and that the Grand Temple of 1000 Devils is about to hold a Grand Sacrifice on September 1, which can't be good news for our heroes.   So perhaps in late August, the Skull Collectors might strike the temple?   Sound good?

NEXT TIME TENTATIVE PLAN: SPLIT THE PARTY

Here's the "Plan" for next game, as I see it now:

First we have a down-time session.   Andrew will manage a Lightning Round and we cover somewhere between 2 and 4 weeks of recruiting, shopping and/or research.

    Then, we split the party:

    Group 1:
Rotwang, Murderface, Tiberio, and Rinaldo will attack Castle Graf.
Dave will set up the scenario, with Andrew, Marlon, Toby and whoever else shows playing the inhabitants of the castle.

    Group 2:
Amicus, the Masked Archer, Shady Jack and Split-Tongue will attempt to conquer Diggers.
Jason will judge with Bob, Tim and Robert playing various guardians of Diggers.
If things look a bit light attendance-wise, perhaps we can have Robert play Decius or Manfred on this assault rather than running some bad guys..

Judges should be looking at really just 2-3 encounters worth of action at each location, rather than a full dungeon expedition.

    New Website

As part as a project at work, I've updated our Website with a new look. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you on your computer and your cell phone.

    Site Illustrations

Here's the second awesome illustration for the Lords of Hack Website. This one is even better than the kick-flipping bishop IMHO.

    Color Scheme

I've witnessed the colors of our blog going nuts again. At first I thought it was my mobile blogging app, but I'm pretty sure that Blogger just hates us. In the interest of being able to see all posts, and in response to Dave's light background preference, I've switched this blog back to a more neutral/bright look. Enjoy!

    Gatavia III Wiki

The Gatavia III ACKS wiki is up and running. Find it here:

Be aware that this URL is case-sensitive. I considered "gataviaiii", but I'm afraid that looked *stupid*.

    Interesting Links

I've added a widget to the right-hand side of this blog to include a list of interesting links across the Internet. I've started with our main website and Dave's blog. However, I want to include links to sites that we all would find inspirational and/or interesting to the group. What are the "go-to" sites you all visit on the Internet when you start up the Web? Let's discuss.

I've had all I can stand and I can't stands no more

I'm really bewildered about posting comments.   I sign in with my google account, and it says, both on this blog and Dr Skull's Workshop, that my google account doesn't have access.   I can post comments using the "Name/URL" option on Dr Skull's, but this blog doesn't give you that option.  I seem to be able to post actual posts on both blogs, but not comments.  Seriously, what the H?   Andrew, could you enable the "Name/URL" option for comments?

Somehow, I posted a comment under the Early Memories thread, but now am powerless to do so.
